Senior right of way agent

Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in landowner identification, survey permission, title research, acquisition, and permitting
Strong communication, interpersonal, documentation, and computer skills
Experience in natural gas pipeline construction strongly preferred
Successful completion of the pre-employment fitness-for-duty physical, background check and drug screen.
May be required to walk in forested and cultivated areas. Will be required to be outdoors from time to time in various weather conditions. Must Possess manual dexterity with the physical ability to work in situations which require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting/carrying items up to thirty (30) pounds. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Protective eyewear, gloves, mask) and other safety equipment required by the company guidelines and procedures.
Job Description
The Right of Way III responsibilities will include but not limit to the following:
Work independently to resolve problems of acquisition and claims settlement. However, no settlements or acquisition agreements should be binding until approved by the appropriate Right of Way Supervisor
Consult with area Right of Way Supervisor, as well as client's in-house and outside counsel to formulate methods and plans for necessary legal actions
Handling, where requested, matters preliminary to condemnation or litigation of any kind
Must keep area Right of Way Supervisor informed in required detail of progress of project development
Must be able to handle "special client" negotiations at all levels
Must be able to perform all the duties required of Level I and Level II Agents and possess the ability to effectively conclude negotiations where an otherwise successful agent fails
Appear when required as a credible witness in behalf of corporation in matters requiring litigation
On request, contact permitting authorities to resolve permit problems.
Prepare adequate reports of daily activity
Remain in contact with the Right of Way Supervisor using, if available, a car radio or mobile telephone if requested by the Supervisor
The day's work shall be defined as being those hours necessary to adequately conclude assigned work in a timely manner
It is understood that these hours frequently include night time hours in order to negotiate with those persons who are away from home during the day

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
